Combining his love of photography and painting, artist, Shawn Power inventively created a new multi media he named, “Water-infused Photography.”TM
Shawn’s introduction of a water solution to a printed photo’s surface distorts the images and the layers of emulsions. He cleverly figured out a way to separate each layer behind the actual printed image, and freeze frame the beauty of molecules of color and light, harmonizing it into the abstract. An explosion of colors and shadows come to life! Organic forms and natural colors blend together, capturing the transformation of beauty in obscurity.
Never before have the photography and fine art community seen this type of art being captured so brilliantly with color and lighting.
Shawn’s abstract images use rich pigmented inks bringing brilliant colors and depth onto large acrylic panels, and also displayed in sophisticated backlit frames called, “Luchae,” using light in a manner that presents the image in its most natural form.
The secrets and methods used by Shawn Power distorting his images are kept private. The process and the time manner play critical roles during the creation.
